It was my sin & fear of God that stopped me from becoming a Christian.
You know never feeling good enough to become a child of God.
I didn't think I'd ever be able to be good enough for Him.

Nihilist,
Angels are spirit & do have a free will.
That is why Lucifer (otherwise known as satan etc) tried to be better than God, his Creator & threw him out of Heaven along with 1/3 of the angels (now called demons etc). The blood of the Lamb & the Word of God covers His children.

Your a Doll Barbiq,
so if you believe in God it's mainly 'the what you see as inconsistencies in the bible' that stops you from giving your life to Him.
Did you know that when you give your life to God, The Spirit of truth comes to live & dwell in you, & teach you all things regarding the Word of God.
It's really cool you know!

I am a christian now, but the thing that hold me back in the past was that I knew I had to give up my sins and my way of living. But one day, I just said to God "I give up", and the next day, He saved me.

Are we all not children of "God"? I know that there is a God, I just don't think that spouting passages from a book of stories and believing it to be "the truth & the way" when it was written and edited by men with their own belief's and agenda's not to mention the society of the times is correct. Not to mention the hundred's of years between actual events and the writing. There are many good things incased in the Bible, but it is not historically correct or complete. All you have to do is read it to see the inconsistancies. I also find it hard to believe in or relate to any group of people who find it acceptable to condemn others who find their faith in other ways.

We are all children of God since he has created our souls and spirits. Our spirit know it's self better than we do since it does prayer to God without us being aware of it.
God has been in my heart since I can remember, although, I wasn't aware that he was by my side all my life during bad and good times. Who else could it been that save my life time after time, who could it been standing by my side teach me through experiences. I was raised Catholic some, do consider to be a christian, although, what I ascertain reflecting through all them experiences is that I don't need to be in a religion, especially knowing that God is there for me, like a personal relationship.
And... "When he has tested me. I shall come forth as gold. -Job23:10
I was never perfect, although, God uses us imperfect people to help others. God did not need to create us, but he chose to create us for his own enjoyment. We exist for his benefit, his glory, his purpose, and delight.
Bringing enjoyment to God, living for his pleasure, is the first purpose of our life.When we fully understand this truth, we will never again have a problem with feeling insignificant.

I have only been a Christian for 4 years. I always just "knew" in my heart that I could never be forgiven for the things i was doing/ had done in my life. I couldn't forgive myself, how could I forgive myself.? How could I do what I knew I needed to do, get down on my knees an come to our Father and ask him to forgive my sins and then ask Jesus to come into my heart? I would so many times drop to my knees and just cry. It wasn't until I became a parent myself, that I realized I would forgive my children anything, and would want my children to come to me with any problem...just as our Father will forgive me anything, and hurts for me anything, and wants me to come to him with any and everything. That was when I could finally go to him.

You were created by God and He never stops loving you but the choice to one day return home to Him (heaven) is your choice. If you live a life outside of God's grace and then try to return, He sees that. He always knows your heart. You needn't worry about not being good enough or trying to become a child of God, you were and always are. Just accept the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus and it's a done deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what justifies that line of thought?

Think of it this way... If there is only one god... no others there..... then who should god hang around with for company... hmm?
The angels are soul-less and lack free will... automata, as such.

That leaves only the inhabitants of the mortal realm.... including you.

Besides... assuming you believe in a god, what really makes you think it is your place to judge? If you think so little of yourself and so much of him, shouldn't his judgement be far more important than yours.... Let him choose... and concentrate your own efforts on being a decent person.
What have you got to lose by trying?

Dear Friend,

You do not need to fear God, God loves you so much that he allowed his son to sacrifice himself so that you could be saved. You are good enough for him, if you have felt the need to seek him then it is because he is calling you.

Consider these scriptures.

Isaiah 43
Israel's Only Savior
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush [a] and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

Exodus 34:6, 7God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth, preserving loving-kindness for thousands, pardoning error and transgression and sin."

Revalation 2I:2 saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

Does this sound like a God to be afraid of, God loves you and wants to forgive your sin.

Many people will tell you that they God, Jesus and the holy spirit exist as a trinity, but this is simply not true, consider the following scripture.

John 14:28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

Also

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.

If the Trinity doctrine was true, then who resurrected Jesus when he was dead? and why did Jesus say the father is 'Greater that I'

I hope this answers your question

God Bless you

You have got sufficient faith. If you feel absolutely that you are the child of God, you will be fondled by God in the same manner. Have no doubt about it. As you feel so you become is the proverb. Feel intensely that you are the child of God. Nothing in the world can deter God from fondling you as such. Discard the abandoned feeling. That is bad In fact all are children of God only. Only the intensity is lacking. nagarajan.

What kept me back was believing I was good enough without His help and my parent's were Christians so wasn't that enough? No, it wasn't enough and when I finally realized that I became an all the time Christian not just one after revival services or camp.

i have several issues with god first one is the bonobo ape, very sophisticated animal smarter than a chimpanzee, walks 25% of its life why would god put a human like animal on the world this to me proves evolution which undermines the bible, another is the old testament it describes god as being a murderer and sort of evil, killing women and children "Hosea 13:16 "they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with children shall be ripped up." thats just a few of my issues
