My 13 yr old grandchild, when he woke this morning he asked me why does his private area stick straight up like that every morning? I said: ask your granddad. he said: no thanks. I will look it up. So I am asking because I don't know why the male childs penis stick up first thing in the morning?

Your grandchild asked you because it is a very personal question. Maybe he wouldn't appreciate having it blabbed all over the internet. Are you sure you arn't the 13 year old just bragging. Relax, it is quite common, he, or you, are not some big stud muffin. Shouldn't you be asking in the parenting section if you were serious about getting an answer wise @ss?

Usualy because they have to pee. and if he is 13 then he is also going through puberty. it will pop up alot. eventualy he will learn to control it.
