Jay Chou is popular in all of the Asian countries - especially Taiwan (since he's born in Taiwan).
Jay Chou should be popular to foreign students from Asia that goes to study abroad too.
And I think I read somewhere that Jay Chou is the most searched person in Taiwan behind Britney Spears (I might be wrong though)

i love jay chou!! i think the only people that know him in the states are american born chinese, or foreign students....he is not nearly as popular as he is in china, hong kong, and taiwan tho.

I have never heard of anybody with that name, unless it is the Chinese name for Jay Lo.
Chinese actors, singers etc are not popular in the West. Except Jackie Chan, of course.

i don't know if he is. but he has some fans in us and europe, although they're asian.
but he's really famous in asian countries like singapore, malaysia, china, hongkong, maybe japan. and also mine. XD
