I am muslim & i have read the story of Yusuf (as) (aka Joseph) so many times & every time i read it, i smile because Yusuf (as) was blessed with many gifts & the one gift that caused many problems for him was physical beauty. He was so handsome that no man on earth was as good-looking as him, yet he never used his goodlooks to commit any evil.

But when she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them and made a sumptuous meal and then she gave a knife to each of them. She said [to Yusuf], "Go out to them." When they saw him, they were amazed by him and cut their hands. They said, "Allah preserve us! This is no man. What can this be but a noble angel here!" (Surah Yusuf: 31)

She said, "You see! It's him you blamed me for. I tried seducing him but he refused. If he does not do what I order him, he will be put in prison and brought low." (Surah Yusuf: 32)

He said, "My Lord, the prison is preferable to me than what they call on me to do. Unless You turn their guile away from me, it may well be that I will fall for them and so become a man of ignorance." His Lord replied to him and turned away from him their female guile and deviousness. He is the One Who Hears, the One Who Knows. (Surah Yusuf: 33-34)

the story of Prophet Yusuf (as) always makes me a bit emotional. How many men in todays time that are even a little attractive use thier looks to get so many women in bed & then you get a story like this where a man that was truly thee most hansome man to have lived & he was so noble, never concieted, never committed adultery.

I think if we all took lessons from all the holy Prophets (pbuh) we would live righteous lives.

What do you think of this story?

X Angel , your information is completely wrong.

A muslim man is allowed to take another wife if his 1st wife agrees

A muslim man is not under any circumstances allowed to take another wife based on lust.

A muslim man is required to treat & provide for each wife equally, if he cannot he should not take another wife.

Islam allows men to take another wife for the following reasons:

1. The women is a widow & she needs to be looked after, if she agrees , he may marry her.

2. If his wife cannot bear children, he may take another wife

(note these are just a few reasons)

The above is only allowed if the 1st wife agrees to it & if thay dont , the man cannot marry again.

OK , if I'm a Muslim , why do I ever need to commit adultery !?

Muslim men are allowed to have up to 4 wifes .
and don't tell me it's adviced to have only one or that you must be justice to all of them . because all I need is to be allowed to do something , to do it . ( human nature ).
advice is nice , justice is fine , but if I can , so I will .

moreover , it's allowed for a muslim man to have sex with any number of female slaves he got , they call it ( melk al yamin )
not only that ..
muslim men are allowed to marry as many women only for sex and nothing more for a limited time ( both male and female agree on ) .. they call it ( zawaj al muta'a ) or marriage of / for pleasure .

if yusuf ( aka joseph ) was a musllim , like the quran say ( you know that the quran say all prophets are muslims , right ? ) if he was a muslim , all he needed to do is take as many wifes as he can , but only keep 4 at a time . or go for pleasure by ( zawaj al muta'a ) or just ask the women to be his slaves.

and whith a man with his "gift" , ... they will do anything , right ?

so , back to your question , It's not yusuf that I think of when I read this story .. and smile .. it's the poor women.
they did not know that years later , they all can share the man they like with the blessings of "Allah" .

I know that's not the kind of answer you are looking for or wanted to hear , hope it's ok

have a nice day

A similar story of Joseph is found in the Bible-- not with the banquet and knives though. He was immediately thrown in prison by his master.

The lesson I see from this story is that Joseph lived his life with his focus on God and serving Him-- not on what other people around him thought. And because of his close relationship with God, God watched over him, helped him and eventually made him the leader of Egypt.

Following God is not always easy and doesn't keep us from encountering hardship. But He is always there to help us through it all, and in the end will reward those who earnestly seek Him.

The message that you are sending is very good. Adultery is a horrific act to commit, because it causes emotional damage.
This story of Yusuf is a great story to be a guidance to hold ourselves back from lust. Good job!

X Angel, that's a huge misconception about Islam you're posting..

Besides, Qur'an NEVER said that all prophets were Muslims, there was no Islam religion back then at the first place.. But they all were "موحّدين" meaning that they worshiped one God and one God only, who is the creator of everything.

And that, my dear is why it is a story. When have you ever seen a group of people, male or female that would not kill off a superior competitor if given the chance.
Sorry.

Harun Yahya is a muslim cretionist preacher who reinterprets the holy Quran to make it match modern science. He is even lower on the honesty scale than the Kent Hovind or the Ken Ham

There is no fixed correllation between appearance and honesty of nature, on general terms.

There are as many honest and honourable good-looking people as ugly..... and just as many "players" of both sorts. Their levels of success are not in question here.

People just will be the way they are inclined to be..... and it only falls to be your business when they interfere in your own existence.
My advice is not to fret it. Those who gamble with their peers almost always lose out sooner or later... and many will learn from that. People must be allowed to make their own mistakes.

Another lesson which may be learnt from his story is how God's plan works in miraculous and unpredictable ways. He was a prophet of God but was made in to a slave, then thrown in prison, undergoing years of trial and punishment before he was brought out and became a leader of Egypt and his own brothers had to bow before him. It is so difficult to know what God has in store for us and even trials and tribulations in one's life have a purpose.
