I've been red, brown and blond. I've done red too much, brown is what I have now and I'm a little scared of how blond will look. What should I try as my next colour, bearing in mind that I will go to the hairdresser so foils/streaks are definately available.

To answer some questions:

My skin is pale (I used the lightest colour foundation available)

I was red a while back, but I had gone blond before and as a result my hair kept sucking colour out. My hairdresser dyed it nearly black to negate this effect. Now it is brown, and it is my natural hair colour, even though it is dyed.

I have a very laid back lifestyle. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, go to clubs much (I do go sometimes). I work in the food service industry at the moment, but my main area of work is in admin

chickgirl, I would think, with all that col or underneath the
brown, you don't know how the blond will take,so I would
proceed with caution, doing some streaks first, see how light, and even they come out, then if you like the results
keep it that way for awhile or go Blond,if the streaks are even.

This is hard to answer because there are a lot of factors to consider when going blonde from brown?

When was the last time it was red?
What's your skin color?
What's your lifestyle?
Describe your body type.

I ask these questions because 1) it will determine if you're able to keep up with the maintenance because blonde is HIGH maintenance and 2) it will help with deciding which shade of blonde works well with you.

Why are you messing with mother nature natural dna? Are those hair dye chemicals end up in the drinking water supply. Or streams for wildlife. Quit the hair dye and live as you are supposed to be.

Buy wigs instead.
