Faith is the ability to believe.
It is a gift of God.
Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Faith, once again, for example, when you leave a room and turn the light switch off, do you go back in to make sure the light went out or is it by faith in technology that you know the light went out...?
Faith is evidence of things unseen.

Faith is an inborn quality. It can not be acquired from outside. If you want to infuse faith in others, by various examples faith will not develop in Him unless he possess in him the unseen seed of faith. How we believe our father when the mother identifies him to you? This is absolute faith in the mother. Likewise I have not seen Jesus or Prophet Mohammad or Buddha or Rama or any body for that sake. But I have immense faith in all their teachings and I believe they existed as human beings. I have unshakable faith in that. How? It is inside me and made me to believe in all the scriptures of all religions. nagarajan.

Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not yet seen.
I look back over my life since I have been a Christian and were I have excercised faith in a particular area of my life, and seen the SUBSTANCE and EVIDENCE of my faith.
I continue to excercise faith each day of my life, for as you rightly put it - without it, it is impossible to please God.

Faith is believing even when your belief has been proven wrong.
It is evidence of nothing except a form of insanity.
