the usage of drugs, knowing that this is not really doing them any good .If the police enforcement had actual movie footage that shows individuals and young students being put into body bags because of them using drugs and actual morgue footage alone with pictures of individuals being crippled and laid up in hospital beds because of drugs and alcohol, then this just might prove the point and get their attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure this would get their attention and scare them enough ,not to mention by showing them extremely bad auto accidents and real footage of individual testimonies in regards of their life and the lives of their loved ones that has past away!!!!!!!!!! This could also show the way individuals are having to live and the way they could of had a bright future etc.

I would like to add that before students were able to watch the film they would of course have to have parental signed statements allowing them to view this to prevent law suits etc.

I believe some kids are smart enough to listen. However, I think you have a point!

I think that the police do get the kids' attention because they are fascinated by cops and usually listen to them. But, by your description of "getting attention", I think you are going to far. We don't have to scare the children/teenagers. I mean, next thing you know they'll be having nightmares about dead druged bodies in bags and never be the same or something. It might get their attention but not in a very positive way...what's better?

1. "Hey kids, people will want you to take drugs but you shouldn't because it will ruin your lives. Listen, I know about this. Now be good kids."

2. "Hey kids, bad people will want to sell you drugs but you shouldn't because you'll die and be thrown in a dirt bad. You'll become crazy and die with a meaningless life."

Now you get my point...

they cant because of parent laws and school adim. The parent should take the time to show and educate the child. But if the parent want they can request to a officer to explain drug & alcohol or have the child go to a D.A.R.E. program.

I doubt it would work. All you have to do is look at how kids drive to know that they regard themselves as immortal. If you know teenagers, you know that they think the world can't get along without them. All they'd do upon looking at people in the end stages of drug dependency is think "It can't happen to me."

Now, given that...let's talk about the deterrent effects of jailing them... if addiction and death can't happen to them, how could being jailed happen?

Parents are the only solution.

One state ( can't remember which one) has a movie that is more graphic that that was developed with grant money. They are claiming a 70% reduction in new Meth addiction. So it would seem their message is getting across

The schools back when I was there showed that stuff. Too many wimpy parents sued saying it made their little babies mentally unhinged and gave them nightmares.
