Ok, my left eye has been twitching for a week, = driving me nuts!
I noticed last night that i have this black dot, not in my eye but i can see it, like if i look at something lightish i can see this black dot, i can only see it with my left eye.
Now i have just found a spot on my eye (same eye) where us girls put eyeliner along the eye.
i have been rubbing my eye alot as the twitch is driving me nuts and it feels a little dry, but what is the spot? its right in the centre :o( is it a sty? :o( i really dont want one of them :o( shall i pop it and get rid of the insides on a tissue?
dont know what to do. :o(

Try not to worry, my eye twitches sometimes when iam tired. Its probably that you have an eye infection or something. Book a consultation with your opthalmologist. He/She will have a look at your eye and into the back of your eye and make sure there's nothing going. Black blobs are ofter cause by floaters (shadows cast on the retina by particles floating in the vitreous fluid) which can be a sign of serious problems. In the mean time try to avoid messing or rubbing the eye as this wont help, if it is dry and irritated use some eye lubricant available through your chemist. Avoid makeup and remove contact lenses. Certainly do not pop anything.

You would best advised to go to a good optician for a check up. They will detect whether anything is wrong or not.
About the black dots floating across, this is nothing to worry about. I have had that many times, and have spoken to the optician about this. They say that they are called floaters, and that although annoying they are nothing to worry about.
If it is a sty that you have coming up that will be the reason why you have been rubbing your eyes, as they do irritate. They normally come up when you haven't had enough sleep, and ,or, that you are out of sorts, and your bodys way of getting rid of impurities it doesn't want.
If it is a sty that is coming up, you don't want to prick it to get rid of it, as it can spread, and you end up getting more. You can get an ointment from the chemist called brolene, this will help to disperse the stye, and ease the pain and irritation.
Hope it feels better soon.

The eye twitching could be from a number of things. My eye used to twitch and I found out that eye twitching in some cases is temporary and completely harmless, as was the case with mine. A friend I worked with had a problem with her eye twitching as well as itching, and her doctor found that it was severe dry skin, or eczema.
However, the presence of a black dot in your vision may indicate something a little more serious. If I were you I would go do an eye doctor, and if you don't have insurance go to your local clinic. Most major universities have a university hospital containing clincs for eyes, skin, cardiovascular, respitory, etc. etc...
You may just need Lasik surgery, which is a safe and simple procedure in which they use a laser to remove spots and growths in your eye. A lot of people have the Lasik done, and I've never heard anything negative about it.

Speaking as some one who has never had good eyesight I cannot stress enough how important it is to look after your eyes. They are too important to 'mess around with' or ignore any problems with.
I suggest that you aim your question at an optician or doctor rather that this forum.
Please look after your eyesight while you still have it!!!

Don't panic! And don't squeeze it either. Make an appointment to see your doctor - if it's an infection he'll give you some cream.
As for seeing a black dot in front of your eye - mention this to him too. He will most likely refer you to an optician.

On your break pop into an opticians and ask for some advice.
They deal with the health of your eyes as well as your sight.

the black spot in your vision is probably a floater, they are quite common. Sometimes when I am really tired, one of my eyelids will start twitching, it is just a nerve thing.
However, with all of your symptons it is probably worth going to your gp or optician, or local eye casualty if you have one, just to get it checked out.

If it is a sty squeezing it is the wrong answer... get to the doctor fast... it could be bells palsy... which is a temporary condition but it's kind of like a stroke and you'll loose some facial motor functions for a couple weeks...

You really need to get to an eye doctor fast. It could be anything from a tear to something more serious. Don't wait make an appt and stop rubbing it!
