Some dogs are sensitive diet changes, so if you have recently changed their diet go back to the original (or to cooked chicken and rice) and then gradually introduce the new food over a week or so.

You say he is now on James Welbeloved, does this mean you have recently changed his food? JW is a quality dry food but if you have recently changed over you may have done so too quickly.
Generally puppies get sloppy stools quite often, it is nothing to worry about. Keep an eye on him, he will only need to go to the vet if it turns to diorreah. You could try some ready brek or similar made with water or a raw beaten egg to help bind his stools but they will firm up on their own given time.

First I think you should take him to the vet to run a few tests and to make sure all is well, health wise. Then I think you should swap the food you are feeding him to a higher quality brand like Innova, Solid Gold or Nutro. When swapping foods, it should be done slowly. Gradually, over a 7 day period, mix new food in with the old food so that he doesn't get an upset stomach after the sudden change. Have you given him anything that may have caused the runny stool? Cow milk can lead to diarrhea so if you're giving him milk, stop that and give him water or special puppy milk (which can be bought from a supermarket in the pet isle).

Try getting dogs food with beet pulp in them, that's what makes the stool firmer and despite what some say it is good for your dog and doesn't harm them. It'll be at the end of the ingredients list. One brand that I know is that has it is Supercoat.
P.S. All the other people answering your question are confusing you, I doubt your dog has diarrohea just sloppy stool! And beet pulp is the known ingredient to stop it. Don't try any of the home remedies people are saying and it's nothing to worry bout so there is no need to take the dog to the vet and the people who say to get a high quality food they actually don't know it but most high quality foods have beet pulp in them!!!

Hi, In the May issue of Dog Fancy on pg. 61 there is a natural tip for dogs with diarrhea it says that "pureed pumpkin is an incredibly effective anti-diahrreal, and you should have a couple cans on hand just in case. Not the "PUMPKIN-PIE MIX" which has sugar and spices--you want plain pumkin. Add a teaspoon or two of fiber rich pumkin to his food or feeding it straight from the can--most dogs love it-- can soon bring the runs to a stand still. Also try on the herbal front, slippery-elm. It is a tried and true remedy for soothing the digestive tract. It is available as a tincture and aside from rare alergic reactions it is considered to be safe for use in animals." Quote from the issue of Dog Fancy listed above. Also ginger has stomach settling properties...see link below.

Never heard of the food but have you just recently changed his or hers diet ? If so that could be the cause especially if you are feeding adult dog food. I would suggest try a few biscuits mixed in to provide a bit more fibre. It usually settles pretty quick anyway.

It could simply be that you are feeding your puppy too much. If it's just that his poos are sloppy (not diarrhoea) try cutting down on the amount. Don't chop & change your puppy's food, James Wellbeloved is a quality product but if you do decide to change, do it gradually.

If you mean diahrrea, add fiber to its food. I believe science diet has it canned. And just add a tablespoon full and mix it with its food. Oh and if you recently changed his/her food from before, try the 75% old and 25% new food. Then after a couple days 50/50 and a few more days later 25% old and 75% new. Untill 100% new, if you changed their food without the gradual change they tend to have wet stool.

when my pups get that i tend to feed them a plain diet of boiled rice and mix in some tinned tuna in to it for a couple of days, as soon as the stools are normal, try the food again, if it's sloppy again you might find that the food you are feeding is maybe too rich for your puppy

change the food to a dry puppy food and then don't change it again! Changing the food type at an early age will give your pup an upset stomach with runny results.
