I have had a tummy tuck and yes it is painful but not as painful as being asked if you are expecting all the time. I have no regrets. If you have an experience surgeon your scar should be minimal You need to take care of the wound while healing and do not sit straight up that is really important. What people who do not have this problem do not understand is that their is such a thing called diastasis and this occurs in women after childbirth when the ab muscles do not go back together. It does not matter what kind of diet you are on or how much weight you lose that fat will never leave it is just sitting their like a puddle Sorry

This process involves removing the extra layers of skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen. Then the skin left is pulled tightly, thus at times tightening the abdominal muscles. The aim of the surgery is to remove the excess loose flesh caused either by rapid weight loss or pregnancy, and then tighten the remaining flesh. However, it is not a primary means of reducing fat. At times the pain from this surgery can last as long as a year. Hence you have to be aware of these pitfalls before going under the surgeon’s knife.

Any surgery will leave a scar on your body and tummy tuck is no exception. Scars form the normal part of recuperative process after an injury or a surgery but they can look ugly, especially if they appear on the visible part of the body like face or arms. The severity of the scar that results from the tummy tuck depends on the type of surgery. The scars left by the partial tummy tuck are smaller than the ones left by the full tummy tuck. They are permanent but the surgeons make the incisions below the bikini line so that the scars are not visible. You might experience some bruising and swelling near the scar after the surgery for a period of fifteen days to some months.
