It think it has to be a balance of both. You have to provide basic needs. Above that I think emotional support is more important.

Hi, it's important to provide both financially and emotionally, it just can't be one of the two right family is family and we have to be there in all ways.

Mind you some people don't have alot of money or good paying jobs and that's okay but as long as your family has the things that they need and are loved that's cool.

Chow.

tough question. If your OK financially, you'll be OK emotionally! Although keep in mind, that family is family & must work together to meet certain goals. Emotions will run high if the Finance isnt there. What if bills cant be paid, your not gonna sit and watch a movie at home happy laughing and giggling! Your mind will be on how do I pay my mortgage? Car Payment? Food? School for kids? etc...

It isn't a contest. the richest people are not always the happiest people....they are on the other side of the fence and looks are deceiving. What you need is a balance of the two---plus communications, mutual respect, willing to help, tolerant, supportive, caring, dignity and integrity--look these things up and you will see why each is important to a wholesome warm family unit. You must work all the time at these things. All of these bring balance, harmony and a strong bond to a family. Emotionally stable families have all of these traits--and they practice them everyday.Individually and collectively, all the family members bring this stuff to the table---they know they can count on each other. Smile and good luck.

Both are important but the material things aren't half as important as feeling "loved". Money can't buy that. A child may not show it outwardly but they crave "discipline". Money often brings the opposite. When the bible says that those who don't provide for their families are worse than those without faith, it doesn't just mean one thing but every need and love is the priority. Just listen to Loretta Lynn's "My coat of many colours that my mama made for me; made only from rags but I wore it so proudly. Although we had no money I was rich as I could be with my coat of many colours, my mama made for me!!!"

both are very important but id say emotionally is 1st in line with financially 2nd... miney isnt worth a persons feeling or distress or hurt. Id rather be poor and happy and loved than rich and and unhappy and hated anyday.

With out a doubt emotionally comes first family always need plenty of love, praise and cuddles. They can never have too much love! As well as that you still need to support them financially. If love comes first your children will learn to appreciate everything else in life-my son does. Thanks.

My opinion, emotionally is extremely important.
Financially comes second, because people can make it on little to nothing and still live well.
Hope this helps.

Emotion is important. Your family will cherish the memories you made with them when you are gone. Money can't buy that.
