According to the Talmud, the Temple had 1. the Ezrat Nashim (Women's Court) to the east and main area to the west. The main area contained the butchering area for the sacrifices and 2. the Mizbaeach (Outer altar) on which portions of most offerings were burned and blood was poured or dashed. An edifice contained the 3. the Ulam (antechamber), 4. the Heichal, and 5. the Kodesh Kodashim (Holy of Holies). The Heichal and the Kodesh Kodashim were separated by a wall in the First Temple and two curtains in the Second Temple. The Heikhal contained the Menorah, the table of Showbread and the Incense alter.

Hope this helps

it was read in the books of history that the at 70 b.c. came from Iraq great power who has destructed all and not a stone was left in the area of the second house that bin build for god on earth(the first was in mecca) the second was in Jerusalem
once khalifa Omar came to Jerusalem there were the church were he prayed next to it
and the place were our prophet mo hammed had came to Jerusalem and prayed in it and had bin taken to heavens from there
that area was chosen by the khalifa Omar to build the mosque
in particular that area was considered by Christians as the temple area.(which according to archaeological work now in there proves nothing that it was once )so christian made that area as the" muzbelleh " the place to through the scums and the trashes .and as bin written the women used to send the (pieces of cloth used to put when she has her period to there from as far as turkey)"that is what books says"
in short Omar build the mosque there
then abed almalik build the tomb of the rock "were the rock followed our prophet and was ordered to go back "
now that place you can see every Friday on TV and the authorities trying to stop mo slims from praying there
