The reason you are afraid to fly is probably due to a couple of things. First of all it is very difficult to give control over your life to a couple of very highly trained pilots who have years and thousands of hours of flying time because you do not know them.

Another reason is that you do not have the background to understand just how safe flying really is. Unfortunately, you only hear about the one that goes down, causing several hundred people to perish. You never hear about the 100s of thousands of people who fly everyday and land safely with no problems.

Get a good book or some cds to listen to and maybe a valium from your doctor to ease your nerves and have a great flight.

The person before you is trying to scare you. I fly all the time, most of the time I sleep in my chair. It's very relaxing.

A feeling of claustrophobia and flying at 35000 feet and you have absolutely no control of what is happening.

perhpas you're thinking about it way too much. it's safer to fly than drive. you'll be fine. and enjoy hawaii!
