Here are some general advises for people on diet or for people who want to be healthy:
1. Eat all kinds of meats, fish, eggs, leafy vegetables, citrus fruits (and carbohydrates only if you must) as the safest way to avoid deficiencies.

2. Do not combine pure fats (butter, cream or bacon) with high starches (potatoes, cereals, breads, cakes or sweets) in any one meal.

3. Do not combine acids (citrus juice, vinegar, buttermilk) with high starches at any one meal.

4. Do not combine high proteins (meats, fish eggs, cheese) with high starches at any one meal.

5. Eat fats freely with proteins and acid solutions.

6. Be sure you get enough of each essential nutritional element as follows:

a. Meat, fish, fowl and eggs: One serving of each, or two servings of one per day with butter or other fat.

b. Milk, buttermilk, or cheese: Two glasses of raw organic milk or buttermilk, or two and one-half ounces of cheese a day (or one glass of milk or buttermilk plus an ounce or more of cheese).

c. Raw, low-starch fruits and raw green and yellow vegetables: Two servings a day or one large salad bowl a day.

d. 1 or 2 tablespoonfuls of a plain cod liver oil, or its equivalent in other fish liver oils, or their concentrates in capsules. But if you use capsules, then be sure to take plenty butter fats and cream; your liver must have fats, if it is going to make bile for you.

e. If you are a carbohydrate eater, supplement with yeast or other equivalent Vitamin B Complex. Other natural fats and oils may also be necessary as the fact remains that natural fats and oils are absolutely necessary in ample quantities for natural, healthy metabolism.

Chocolate and cheese shouldn't be taken in the same meal--it can give you a migraine headache. It does me.

Melon, I've heard, should be eaten on its own. No danger or anything, just for better digestion.

Some people say that fruit shouldn't be eaten at the end of a meal, but at the start, because fruit is digested in 20 minutes whereas meat etc. can take hours. So if you've eaten a lot of fruit on top of meat, the fruit just sits there and starts its first stage of decomposition. I suppose this just means you miss out on some of its vitamins.

Most "food combination" advice I've heard is about what to do rather than not to do, eg you should be eating iron foods with vitamin C.

You're also advised to drink plain water at least half an hour before a meal, because water is good for you but you don't want to dilute your digestive juices too much; it stops you digesting food efficiently.

I have never heard of a food combination that "isn't allowed". Having raised three kids, I know that babies shouldn't be given honey.

As an adult I am aware that certain foods should not be taken if one is on certain medications, other than that, good sense should guard against bad food choices.

Maybe that should be 'not recommended'.
I am heartily sick of the idea of something being 'not allowed'.

If it works for you, go for it. If the combination makes you vomit or brings you out in spots, then avoid it in future. Some people call this 'common sense.'

Chicken liver covered in hot fudge and whipped cream is probably not a good combination.

I know that pickled onions shouldn't be eaten with sugar foods because the acid in the vinegar weakens the teeth and the sugar with rot them.

I've never heard the things you speak of but I'll check on this question to see if others have ideas. It just sounds like old wives tales.
