There is no cure for allergies, but there are several types of medicines available. Over-the-counter medications help ease annoying symptoms like congestion and runny nose. These include antihistamines, decongestants, and combination medicines.

Antihistamines are Clariton (Loradidine), Benadryl, Chlor-Trimeton, Dimetane and Tavist.

Decongestants have Sudafed or something like it in them.

Nose sprays are good too. You may want to try NasalCorm or Afrin. NOTE: DO NOT USE AFRIN FOR MORE THEN 72 HOURS!

I hope this helps.

Some people claim to have gotten over allergies by using herbal cures. How accurate those claims are is anyone's guess. Generally people go to an allergist and get a series of shots to desensitize them to an allergen like cat dander.
