Aren't there any black boys out there that can defeat the white men who hold the belts?

ps. Chris Byrd and Hasim Rahman are chumps that have no game so I hope you can do better than that!

I'm glad some people can see the irony of our current situation and still have a sense of humor. Unfortunately, there will always be overly pc whites, like Keith, whose white guilt prevents them from seeing the humor of this strange world we live in. Keith, you do realize that I didn't come up with the phrase the "great _____ hope". Did you complain when blacks dominated the heavyweight division and said this mockingly towards whites? I already know the answer to this question, because I know your type.

Absolutely hilarious question, classic. Blogbaba is laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes, this one may be the funniest question I have seen on yahoo answers boxing forum since I started frequenting the site. The only problem is most people are so hung up on race, they won't see the humor in it, too bad for them.

I disagree with you on Byrd, his style might not be pleasing to the crowd, but he's earned a measure of respect. I can't explain Rock letting Olav get to him twice, that ones a mystery.

An old shot Holyfield is better then Maskiev, Valuev, Briggs and the other white guy (name slips the blogbaba's mind). Only Klitschko would give Evander trouble. Peters would do the same to the heavyweight division if given the opportunity and a rematch with Kliltschko would be tough to call.

Hahahaha... Great Black Hope. That's SO funny. Before anyone talks trash to me, I am part black. I do not care about the races. I just find it very amusing that there now needs to be a "Black Hope". Or "American Hope" too I suppose. P.S. Briggs only holds WBO, he looks like he has white in him like I have black. There should not be a racial concern, I just love the role reversal. To me, it makes the sport interesting in a way. I believe boxing in the Heavies is as good as ALMOST ever... there were a couple "Golden Eras". But the only thing wrong with HW boxing is the different "titles". I know Ali is all this and all that, that's fine. But he won alot of fights he shouldn't have. And now days people think he was greatest because they are told so. And the division is weak... because we are told so. But that's what makes boxing great, is when you are TOLD something, an upset happens.

There are many talented African-Americans in boxing. I think the next great "black" boxer will be Samuel Peter. He has potential and he has the right tools. He may have some flaws, but he as all the time he needs to correct it. Peter is still young and he has experienced a lot at this stage in his career. Come on, everyone knows how hard it will be to find the next great boxing superstar, even if you consider boxing as a whole and not just the heavyweights.

The majority of the people on this site in yahoo answers do not see color when we look at a boxer we see talent or lack there of. One of the men who holds a belt happens to be black. The white men who hold the belts have no talent compared to boxers throughout the history of boxing. To answer your question the way it is written, Sam Peter is a very good boxer. He is a person who would give any belt holder a good match. By the way, Valuev may be undefeated but he hasn't fought any one with any power that is impressive what so ever. Talent and attitude should be the things that are measured when looking at a boxer definitely not the color of their skin.

Sixtus you get out from behind that door and reread the way this question is worded.

There's nothing wrong with the guy's question saying 'great black hope' or talking about 'which black guy' etc. You kids tie yourself up with this stuff too much , you will do more damage to your own freedom of speech than racism ever did anyway.

Now back to the question. Which BLACK guy( with black skin I mean by that) is the next best hope honestly I think none of them.

The problem is boxing is a hard sport for when there is not a lot of money in a country- and people are hungry(not just for food- for blood, for winning, for anything).

Now there are a lot of other easier sports around for big black and white guys. Football, weightlifting, bodybuilding etc.no one is as hungry

In poor eastern bloc countries there are still a lot of big hungry white guys

Advocate ~

I usually like to read some of the people asking questions here answers who aren't regulars. And like the very knowledgeable Blogbaba, I thought you were just trying to be funny and was slapping my knee right beside him and Ric, but after reading some of your previous answers you are indeed a Homophobic Racist. I call on Yahoo Answers to investigate you. I call on them to make the real you known. Everyone can be outed.

Go away! Leave! I promise we'll never notice.
