Wealth will not necessarily bring you a good life, a good relationship, or a good job.
But by striving to learn and do even the most menial jobs to the best of your ability will lead to wealth (both spiritual & material).

Wealth can give you comforts and luxury. Excellence is a qulity not connected with wealth. Wealth can bring prosperity. For example you can excel in your studies and excel in your work. As Socrates has said, Excellence in the chosen field can bring you laurels and the accompanying wealth and prosperity. When you excel in morals and goodness, naturally it will bring everything that is good for you. Hope you are clear. nagarajan.

I think he means that wealth does not help you to achieve wisdom, only introspection does and if you apply your energy at it, you might excel and reach real wisdom.
