I managed to get spywared and phished. When I tried to remove the malicious files and folders, my system froze, and would not allow me to reboot, my administrater password was disabled therfore I could'nt log in (very clever! best I've seen personally). I fdisked the drive, and reinstalled xp. My disk is scratched and some of the ini and dll files (i believe were not loaded) some of the symptoms include, but not limited to are: unable to install a game controller, unable to install audio device and mixer, attempting to open device mgr sends me to a web site which reads action cancelled. Any suggestions on how to repair this problem other than purchasing a new copy of os?

Thanks

For repairing dll files, you can re register those dll files

Fir .ini , you can reinstall them

or
You can run SFC /Scannow from Command prompt and insert any Windows XP DIsk. It will copy the missing files as well as it repairs damaged files.

or
Repair the system using windows XP Cd. You need to boot from the CD and choose repair.

or Format the whole system as you have viruses and spywares on system

(If you have original windows XP Cd , and your cd is damaged you can call Microsoft (1-8009365700) for Media Replacement. They will replace it for free.

or
You can borrow from, someone any Windows XP Disk and do the following .Make sure if you have to use product key while repair or format install use your product key)
