Hi Thiokol!
Dogs chase and attack sheep for fun. They rarely kill the sheep immediately. Dogs may harass injured sheep every time they get up to run away. Animal behaviourists believe the movement of the sheep away from the dog stimulates the dog to give chase.
Dog owners think that it is not possible for their pet to be attacking sheep because their dog is not vicious and has never bitten anyone. Owners should understand the reason why a dog attacks sheep — it's all for the love of the game. Dogs do not bite people because they are being predatory; they bite people because they are dominant, frightened, or because they are protecting something or someone. Do not let your dog stay out all night to run or leave your dog loose to roam all day while you are at work. A dog left to roam your property, where you don't have adequate fencing to contain it, may leave at anytime it chooses. It is important to remember that you are legally responsible for your dog's actions.
My advice - find a trainer http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/Selecting_A_Trainer_-_General/ that will work for you . Have facilities for your pet that will keep it on your property at all times. .

There's no such thing as a dog getting a "taste for blood" that's just a myth. Train the dog and don't let it go out unsupervised. Be a responsible owner and this won't happen again. A sheep is perfectly capable of injuring a dog and even killing it should it fight back with its hooves. They aren't weak animals.

yes they can have a taste for blood from now on...a family friend used to raise all types of bull dogs...the last two he had were fine until they killed some small animals on his land after that, they didn't stop and he had to put both of them down...he could attack the other one, but you need to make sure that you show them YOU are the dominant one in the home, not either one of the dogs, and keep and eye on them you can train them to not attack other animals...have you ever watched any episodes of the dog whisperer? it might help you out...he's awesome

You wont really know whether the pup has a taste for blood. I suggest getting him checked out by the vet if you ahvent already. If he gets on fine with your other dog then the other dog might have already laid down the law. You may have to watch him closeley for a few months. If he is snarling or growling at the other dog then you are in hot water and keep them saparate till you sort our their problems and differences. Good Luck

Jason is correct - its a very different thought process - chasing sheep & attacking a person or another dog.
However knowing he will chase a sheep - don't let him wander to try again

First of all you don't say how old your other dog is. If he is ruler of the roost then don't worry about him.
Second you do not give the breed. So it makes difficult to give you any answer.
