Are you referring to the cycle redundancy check error when copying a CD. It usually comes from overburning the previous disc. a normal disc can write bit more than the usual size but this is not advisable. it makes it difficult for copying of the disc.
You could try to make a image file from the disc or use a cloning program like clone CD/DVD.

Some CD creators does the overburn part for copy protection. You can read the info but not copy the info.
