Friday night I've been out with allot of friends to a club in south africa, I had a few drink and few tequilas! but just being myself, flirting here and there, nothing serious! I danced with one of my old school friends and after the dance me and some friends just stood there and chatted with her! The next moment n massive guy came from the side and hit me like it felt if every single bone in my face broke. The next thing that I could remember was waking up in bed! My friends said that it was a bouncer that hit me, and that it look liked a guy that didn't like me talking to that girl set him up! Having a serious concussion now what is going to keep me out of my job for a while is a big issue for me. Do you think I should just leave it and forget about it or try and do something about it!

I would press charges. He had no right to hit you if you were doing nothing wrong.

I don't know about the laws that exist in South Africa. But, if it were the US and that happened to me---I would not only bring that bouncer to court, but the establishment that employs him. That bouncer needs to know that he can't just go up behind someone, without warning, and physically injure them. You're lucky your not dead. Talk to your friends that saw the incident. Ask them if they are willing to stand up for you in court. You may have to subpoena them. Being out of work for something that was a senseless act of assault is a big deal. That bouncer's job is to ensure that people are NOT hurting each other or starting bar fights; NOT starting bar fights or assaulting people. His jealousy is NOT your problem--that is between the girl and himself.

Also, I'm not sure about the current cultural interactions in S.Africa---but, ask yourself, were you of a different racial culture? If so, depending on the current laws that exist there now, it can also be an issue of racial discrimination. I'm still not sure of the current laws that exist for this in S. Africa, either.

You weren't doing anything wrong so I would go to the police or seek legal advise. Bouncers cant be thugs! Here in Australia a bouncer caused the death of one of our most famous cricket players, David Hooks.

nope, go get the girl, make her your woman, and if the guy comes back again "defend" yourself in anyway possible, then when you "defended" him unconscience open his wallet and copy down his name and address and sue him for all the pain, suffering, and lost work time your missing.
