The Old Testament represents God’s revelation to humanity concerning His person and plan. In that plan He predicted that a Messiah or Christ would come and deliver His people from sin and from their enemies. God set up an elaborate system of law, sacrifice, and behavior that looked forward to the coming of the Messiah.

The New Testament says that the Christ has now come in the Person of Jesus of Nazareth. With the coming of Jesus those laws, ceremonies and rules had had their fulfillment. They were only a shadow of what was to come. The old system has been abolished and a new one put in its place. Judaism attempts to live under the old system. Consequently it does not represent what God is doing on earth today.

Judaism rejects the complete revelation of God in the Person of Jesus Christ. In this present age, only Christianity provides the truth concerning how a person can know the one, true God. Although the God of the Old Testament is the same God as the New Testament, God has made the way through Jesus Christ as the only way in which He can be known.

The main shift (well before the 4th century) was the belief that one did not have to keep the Jewish law to be saved. Faith is what saves. The Catholic church subsequently became as legalistic in many ways as the old Jewish law. Jesus fulfilled the law. The book of Hebrews explains a lot about that.

Jesus was introduced by John the Baptist who proclaimed Him to be the Lamb of God. The miracles and subsequent following of Jesus grew. Unlike anyother, His miracles were supernatural & never failed at His command. Then of course the witnesses of the resurrection told thesalvation story first hand. If you read Josephus an athiest, he describes Jesus as a powerful yet gentle man. He really may have had a halo too.

This is not a complicated question. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. There are Jews who do not accept this. In a sense, Christians are a type of Jew or Jewish convert that accept Jesus as Messiah.

Jews who try to achieve salvation through the law have lost sight of what the faith of Abraham was.

What really made Christianity believable was the fact so many people (over 500 at one time, and Jesus also eat and drank with his disciples for 40 days) saw Jesus after He was dead and buried in a tomb.
Jesus did many miracles during this time (walking through walls, etc.). These people were so convinced that they were tortured and killed for their faith.

I forget wat Judaism is about because I have learned about many different cultures because I am a christian. I've been taught many differences between religions. the bible of different religions are different. and some religions beleive that Christ didn't come yet. others do. and some also think that Mary was God's wife which isn't correct. It just hurts my head thinking about this now. but the differences between each religion is their beliefs. that's y there are different religions
