sorry to hear of your troubles. Hope all will be sorted. If it is any comfort - most families gothrough some sort of drama with children - you are not alone!

Hi, tis me!

I asked because we had an episode with my 14 year old grand-daughter when she came to stay with us... she was stealing £10 notes from purses left lying around (cos we never had to lock anything away before & didn't realise the temptation...)
We were giving her £5 a week pocket money but her parents weren't contributing to her upkeep... a lot of money was changing hands in the family (to her mum) & I guess she was feeling "well, I have needs too, so why shouldn't I have some? & if you wont give me some, I'll take it..."
There was a great big fuss made about her stealing... my partner (not related to her) was hopping mad & he used that as an excuse to try & get rid of her from our lives...
All so very, very sad... cos she's a really great kid...
& I miss her terribly now she's gone.

That's why I asked... cos that alerted me... there has to be a reason why people do things...

strange, how similar with your son...
Why did your husband not follow through with his promises?
(You could add more details here, or email me if you want to continue this conversation... I have another question too...)

I truely hope your relationship with your son is consolidated...
& I wish all the very best.
(I am sure you are a lovely, very CARING mum).

Stealing is against the law for a reason....it's

1. Coveting

2. Acting upon it which we are not to do for obvious reasons. There is - no excuse - for a person to take things that doesn't belong to them.

If your son is old enough to be kicked out, then do so.

He cannot go though life having money dished out to him, or just helping himself. Let him learn that he needs to work for his money.

I really wouldn't know what to say to this woman. What an embarrassing situation for you.

There is no excuse for a child to steal from his parents.
