No, that is a priviledge EARNED by active duty, reserve, guard, retired and prior service personnel. In fact, if you steal one from a troop, you could go to jail on felony charges. Gangs statred wearing them to show they were urban guerllas! Active duty troops had to stop wearing them, because police could not distingish them from those who break the law, placing active and reserve troops at risk.
If civillians wear them, they should be different and without the patches, rank or other military items on it!

I wear some Army surplus, hell, 3 new t-shirts (Brown) $3
Dessert Fatigue pants 6 -pocket $19, they are re-enforced at the knees and rear, so they last about 10 years, lots of leg room too.
Socks- 70% Cotton, 30% wool, warm, comfy, and a bag of them is like $5.99
Sweatshirts were $5 for a package of 3
I work outside, and to find inexpensive, warm clothing, there's NOTHING wrong with it, I'm not posing as a captain or a soldier or anything, I just need warm clothes, at bargain prices, I can't afford to wear "L.L Bean" to work outside all the time....

Many people wear army clothes. The pants are very good for outdoorsmen because of all the extra pockets. Army coats are toasty warm. It is already illegal to wear a complete army uniform and pose as a soldier.

I agree with ShadowCat, it is a privilege that is EARNED. I know it happens...I know people wear pieces of the uniform, but I dont like it, ESPECIALLY when the uniform shirt has not been sanitized, or had all patches, tapes, rank removed...not even the flag should remain. It irritates me to no end that people think they have the right to wear a uniform that brave soldiers have worn. And to see DCUs worn makes my blood boil, because DCUs have been worn by those deployed.
I see BDUs worn by our maintenance crew here on post. They are usually worn out and ripped to shreds.
And you know what else fires me up? Seeing wives walking around the commissary with PT shirts on with their grubby sweat pants. Or a PT jacket with her jeans like it is just another jacket in the closet. It ISNT just another jacket, it is part of a uniform! No part of the uniform should be part of the mix and match collection of an army spouse. I wont wear any part of husbands uniform...I dont get up and do PT at gawd awful hours of the day, I dont take orders from people with big rank on their chests, I dont get my rump chewed a new one if my work isnt done correctly, I dont deploy to strange lands and get shot at regularly, so I REFUSE TO PUT THAT UNIFORM ON AS IF I DESERVE IT. I dont deserve to wear it just because it is in my house.
Thanks for asking the question, and I will step off my box now.

I think it's in bad taste for people to wear army clothes if they are not in the army, but the freedom to wear what you want is also part of living in a free society.

I personally do not. It is a uniform designed for a specific job. Not anyone is allowed to wear a police officer's uniform, or a lab coat reading "Dr. So-and-so" The US Army no longer uses BDU's so I feel that hunters are more than ok to use them for hunting.

I agree with a lot of the other posters.... the t-shirts, old camo pants, etc. Eh, who cares, right?
However, I was at a store one day and saw some idiot wearing the full DCU uniform. Instead of the brown shirt, he had a FUBU shirt on and a lot of (fake) gold chains. That bothered me. He didn't have any rank or unit patches on it, so it's not wrong, per se.... but it's just... wrong!
LOL, and I had to laugh at the above poster who commented on seeing wives wearing their husbands' PTs. That bothers me too! Ugh, slobs!!!

As long as they are not in a complete uniform and
not posing as a soldier to do any acts that would
hurt a person, then it's okay to wear parts of a
military uniform, as they sell them at any sports
store used for hunting purposes and the pants
(camouflage) are good for doing chores around
the house.

I was in the army. I still wear my old pants, undershirt, PT shirt and shorts, or boots from time to time but never the blouse. I don't think people should wear the blouse, or beray unless for military type purposes, but pants, boots, patrol cap, undershirt or PT uniform is all game.

Its a job and as quickly as you're released you are able to positioned on civilian clothing. the only real exceptions is while you're deployed or in undemanding instruction or AIT yet even in AIT you are able to drop the uniform on the weekends while you're on bypass.
