I've owned an '81 vw pick up, a mercedes 300SD, a VW Golf and currently diver a 2006 mercedes c230, yet my best experience in a car was when i rented a new mustang for my birthday. Sure the quality isnt great, but the feeling the car gives you is. You feel greatness, especially with a mustang that has so much history behind it.When i say i want to trade in my car and get a mustang GT or Chrysler 300 my friends think i'm crazy!haha Tell me why you or people you know have this idea that mercedes or european cars are on another level.

European cars used to be higher quality - no more. I have driven American made cars since the early 60's, and I have never seen a European or import of any kind that I preferred over the American car. True, American cars went through a transitional phase with the 70's and 80's bringing forth marginal performance mostly caused by addition of devices and processes "designed" to enhance fuel economy and avoid pollution. Now, I believe that the American car is superior to the European, and I couldn't agree more that you should have a Mustang. Call me a diehard, but I will not buy a European car after their assaulting us in the UN like they have. I know also that a lot of our automotive components are built in other countries, but as long as I am alive, I will back the US manufacturers even though they continue to make poor financial decisions in regard to business.

Because everything in Europe is better not just cars; French wine, German beer, Dutch pot, Italian cheeses, Greek architecture, etc... the grass is always greener. Plus, They have the autobahn whwere cars are meant to go fast....but look at the consumer reports, Japanese cars kick both American and European cars butts.....

Sometimes I think people just admire the stigma that goes along with foreign cars, that of class, prestige, and wealth.
