I know that vomit is a build up of lactic acid in your stomach, why do you burp after extreme excercise?

Hmmm, lots of people suggesting thre is somethign wrong with me ... I'm going to beg to differ. I exercise hard 3-5 times a week and play a bunch of sport including martial arts so it isn't a case of being unfit. I have never thought about the burping until at the end of our workout yesterday, one of the other guys made a comment about the fact that all of us were burping during the workout. It wasn't just guys either - we had 4 guys and two girls and all said that they needed to burp after strenuous exercise. We were doing a crossfit workout that was fairly punishing.

There is nothing wrong with you I'm sure! The body does all kinds of funny things after exercise but exercise is good so keep it up! If you've ever seen a newborn baby being jiggled by it's parent then you will see a burp is normal after this. Your body is just ironing out the creases!
