A messianic Jew is someone of the Jewish Faith that believes the Messiah has already come. Traditionally, they accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah, although someone following a false prophet (and believing him to be the messiah) could technically also be called a MJ.
Yes, you are correct in calling a messianic Jew a Christian, although not all Christians are messianic Jews.

They are for the most part traditional Jews that have converted to Christianity, just like the apostles of the New Testament. A Messianic Jew, is one who recognizes Christ as Lord and Savior and is looking for His Return...they are of the 12 tribes mentioned in Revelation 14 to be united with Christ.

This is a myth created as a recruiting ploy by certain evangelical Christian groups who target Jewish people. Messianic Jews are breaking sacred laws and tenets of their own religion. I do not believe they should be looked down upon, but I do understand why people don't agree with it. It is wrong to try to actively convert people of another religion, especially one that is a culture and ethnicity.

a messianic jew is one that says he believes in Christ: but, thinks that they must also fulfill all of the law...not just the commandments; but also eating clean meats...tsi tsi's (tassels) on their clothing...etc
They are not Christian anymore than anyone is that denies christs power. they are relying on their works and Christ not just Christ...catholics do the same thing by relying on their sacraments to get to heaven and worse..some people think they can tithe their way to heaven...we are justified only by FAITH in the atonement that was offered by the perfect sacrifice 9once and for all sacrifices) we should have good works; but, only to give evidence of our faith and not to justify us. It is only by relying on Christ's righteousness and not our own that we can exceed the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Nope not a Christian. Well not in a literal sense.
It is a Jew who has accepted Jesus as the Messiah.
s/he would be a completed Jew.
The Jews are the elect. We are adopted into the family. Same family.

Sounds confused to me. Wants to be a Jew, wants to be a Christian, not accepted as either one. It must hurt.
