This sounds like she has fluid behind her ear drum.
She needs to get this checked by her doctor before her hearing suffers.

RE:
Creaking in ear?
My friend suffers occassionally from what she describes as a "creaking" in her ear, it apparantly sounds like a floorboard creaking. i told her she was hallucinating...but seriously what could this be? is it just movement of earwax?

She might need her ears syringed. Sometimes a build up of wax or water can make noises in ones ear. She should go to the doc's and get the doc to look inside her ears they will be able to let her know if there is a problem and what they can do. xx

This is not "ringing of the ears" but stretching of cerumen near the eardrum. Once you open your mouth wide you hear this creak. There is a possibility that cerumen blocks the direction of hearing in the canal. The Cerumen may be compacted against the tympanum itself.

Have an ENT check her out. The normal movement of the jaw will produce such a sound. A large, dried earwax may also produce a creaky sound. Rarely, a damaged or perforated ear drum.

Fluid buildup in her ear possibly after showering water has gotten behind the wax and didnt drain. Gently use a q-tip to soak up excess water in the ear canal after showering or swimming. Do not push it in though.

I have had myself once or twice..but it's not wax but a twitching of a nerve of the inner ear and sometimes made me recoil.
