As to small children being bf and gf is pretty common because the menaing is like this: in bf means boy who is a friend and gf means a girl who is a friend. This is how small children understand from this meaning to them.
Hope this helps.

LOVE is a very special feeling it is devotional, it is a feeling for and of a life time love changes man and man loves love.
Love is not a joke love is a feeling of care and affection towards the other person who you like.Love has no age bar,no colour bar, it just happens in a person's heart.
love is a language of 2 hearts connected with each other.
*-- the children of today some may have love as love has no age bar but most of the children do it just for fun to pass their time and roam with girls and boys 90% of them do not have love just they do it for fun.

Love is term used when one feels care, possession, ownership and admiration for another person.
Why children make gf and bf at early age.. it is because, they see what the adults are doing.. which is very transparent nowadays, and imitate them.. that's alll

love is a feeling of oneness with one and all and has nothing to do with gender, age, sex etc.. love is, when one rises and not when one falls!.. it is the most misunderstood and misused/abused emotion.. immature youngsters, when deprived of parental care and attention, lacking in a sense of belonging, seek attention and affection from the opposite sex as it gives them a sense of belonging/fulfilment but owing to their age and immaturity end up getting physical..

Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness. Depending on context, love can have a wide variety of intended meanings. Romantic love is seen as a deep, ineffable feeling of intense and tender attraction shared in passionate or intimate attraction and intimate interpersonal and sexual relationships. Love can also be conceived of as Platonic love, religious love, familial love, and, more casually, great affection for anything considered strongly pleasurable, desirable, or preferred, including activities and foods. This diverse range of meanings in the singular word love is often contrasted with the plurality of Greek words for love, reflecting the concept's depth, versatility, and complexity.
The definition of love is the subject of considerable debate, enduring speculation, and thoughtful introspection. Some tackle the difficulty of finding a universal definition for love by classifying it into types, such as passionate love, romantic love, and committed love. However, some of these types of love can be generalized into the category of sexual attraction. In ordinary use, love usually refers to interpersonal love, an experience felt by a person for another person. Love often involves caring for or identifying with a person or thing, including oneself (cf. narcissism). Dictionaries tend to define love as deep affection or fondness. In colloquial use, according to polled opinion, the most favoured definitions of love involve altruism, selflessness, friendship, union, family, and bonding or connecting with another.
The different aspects of love can be roughly illustrated by comparing their corollaries and opposites. As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate (or neutral apathy); as a less sexual and more mutual and "pure" form of romantic attachment, love is commonly contrasted with lust; and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is commonly contrasted with friendship, although other connotations of love may be applied to close friendships as well.
they make bf or gf in a young age becuase they need someone to protect them or be there for them other than their family member. they need to feel safe. and they also want to experience how it feels to love and be loved in return (:
