The first person you should see is a psychologist. This doctor can provide therapy and help you decide whether you should see a psychiatrist to try medication as well.

Hi,
You can got to your regular Dr. and explain your symtoms. the Dr. can prescribe medication to help you feel better. The Dr. can also make a referal for you to see a counselor. Anther way to do it is to call your local mental health clinic and request an appointment to talk to somebody about what is going on. The most important thing to do is to be honest with the professionals and not be afraid to tell them how you feel.

It depends upon what you're seeking.

Do you feel you need to talk to someone, or do you think your depression is more "clinical", as if your brain chemicals are out of whack?

If you have insurance, start with your regular physician, tell them what you are seeking, and hopefully they will provide you with the treatment or referral you need.

Best of luck.

First go to your GP.

Don't just let him;her put you on pills unless there is a good reason until you have spoken to a counselor.

Best of luck to you.
