People really think that being fat is not that good, healthwise yes, but how can you maintain high morale and confidence to your self?

I am a fat woman. I am fat for several reasons, primarily being that I am diabetic, hypothyroid, and wheelchair bound with severe painful arthritis. Exercise is not an option due to the pain. I already follow a strict diet.

My self confidence is not wrapped up in how I look, it is wrapped up in who I AM. The person I am is a strong, intelligent, caring, sharing, creative, capable individual, a woman who is homeschooling three special needs boys, loving all six of her kids and all three of her grandchildren, as well as her husband, her relatives, and many good friends, creating works of art out of clay, crocheting, sewing, writing great poetry and short fiction, and taking care of my home and family on a day to day basis. That's a lot to feel good about.

Not to mention the fact that my husband thinks I'm beautiful just the way that I am, and on THAT factor, nobody else's opinion really means much to me. If he finds me attractive, that's good enough for me. :)

I've said for a very long time "Love me, love ALL of me!" and have since become more and more confident about myself. It's way easier said than done. Confidence isn't something you can make happen. It's something you have to continuously work on and develope. I dont' know your specific situation e.g. relationship, kids, family or what... but I know that once you find someone who accepts you as you are and isn't there for anything but you, you'll find that the confidence begins to come from genuine love. I know that it wasn't until the last year that I suddenly realized that I'm way more upbeat and confident than I used to be. (I live in a beach area in florida and the "skinny minnies" are abundant. Keeping confidence around here is a major task.)
Keep your head up!

YOU must look inside yourself for the answer to this question.
Confidence can be acted out and then you will be come confident in a given situation. YOu can fool yourself ointo believeing that you are confident.
Fat is the ugly word of the century...People eqaute it with poor hygiene and low brain functioning.
WHY I DONT REALLY KNOW> I think that if you dress well and present yourself in a super clean fashion(Use deodorants and talc) then Id even have you over to me house for dinner.

Well, I suppose it depends on how you feel being fat. If you are ashamed of your weight and feel like you should lose some weight than it might be difficult maintaining confidence and being overweight. If it doesn't bother you and you feel comfortable how you are, then why worry. If it aint broke why fix it. What we are within shapes and mold us without. We can be in the best of shape and still have no confidence or esteem in ourselves. Our spirits mold and make our bodies. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

I just asked a similar question! I guess I'm not the only one trying to feel better about myself even though I don't meet society's general standards on beauty. People have been telling me to act confident and eventually you will feel confident. I'm not obese, but I'm certainly not 120 lbs. It's hard today isn't it, especially when you turn on TV and all you see is every television show honoring those who have lost weight.

Yes. But you must retrain your way of thinking from negative to positive. Plenty of books at the library on this subject and I believe that once you begin to love yourself, you will naturally begin to want to eat healthier, exercise, do more with others, etc. and the weight may just start dropping.

Yes of course it's call strength! just believe in yourself no matter what anyone opinion is. Tell yourself I love you when you wake up in the morning and also tell God I love you God and thank you for life! for waking me up this morning. Being big is not that healthy but you can work with what you got until you can gradually lose it. Until then, love yourself honey at least you are alive.

Sure you can, Just don't let other people thought get in the way. If you know you look good don't worry about what other people think because if you do , you are gonna be really down and you don't wanna feel like that TRUST ME!

I know plenty of heavy set peaople who look just as good as the next skinny person... They dress very decent and maintain themselves properly, just cause youre fat doesnt mean youre ugly...
