Atheists are human like each and every person else, with all the failings and frailties that come alongside with being human. the subject of god's existence, to many, isn't an particularly very own or emotional subject. as a replace, it extremely is a philosophical question which could be addressed in a indifferent way it is frequently conducive to the appliance of high quality judgment and reason. even in spite of the shown fact that, the closer some thing strikes to domicile, to harder it is to override the psychological mechanisms that kick in whilst some point of emotion is in touch. i don't have numerous a private stake in denying or accepting that divinity of Jesus, or the existence of Valhalla -- I do have a stake in finding out no remember if or to no longer admit that i'm alcoholic, that may make it complicated to stay purpose. additionally, there are distinctive motives that folk replace into atheists, and appreciate for good judgment and reason do no longer consistently characteristic prominently between them (despite if the atheist claims in any different case).

Well, the inversion can be put just as validly:

Are theists living in denial?
They know god doesn't exist, but refuse to leave their illusory comfort zone?

No, the mere setting up of a proposition does not determine the truth of it.
The truth and sociology of this (and the two need not coincide) will have to be resolved on other grounds.

Hey Hey Hey ...... that is generalization ......... Most atheists does not believe God existed. In fact, we wanted to know why the Christians are so judgmental in this. They have the right to believe there is a God .... but they refused to accepts atheists truly believes there is not such thing as a God, but instead calling atheists as being in denial as if atheists have no right to believe there is no God.

If it makes you guys (theists) feel better, you can assume whatever you want. Actually, nevermind, it irritates the crap out of me when ignorant people say such things. Can't you just accept the fact that not everyone in the world has the same dang beliefs as you? And does that someone make you feel better to think that everyone knows your God exists, yet some choose to ignore it? Come on. It's not some high-school rebellious thing (for most atheists). Jeez!

I don't think so. People just believe in different things. Some people might say that people who choose to believe in a higher power are living in denial. But it shouldn't matter. Different strokes for different folks, right? Live and let live. If there is a God (and I hope there is) I bet it's what She/He would want.

No they don't know God exists, that's why they're called Atheists. But hey go ahead, worship at the alter of 3000 year old fairy tales that have more holes in them than a spaghetti strainer. But the way you put your comment is just plain ignorant,it's the act of someone who cannot rationally support their argument.

What part of atheism are you not understanding? Atheists do not, by your explanation, know that 'god' exists. They do not refuse to accept 'he' supposedly exists. They refuse to accept the lie.
