Dear TX_Jok,

i'm a youth and college pastor and have been working with youth for about 15 years. i would like to know a little bit more about the group you'll be talking to and a little bit about you to be able to properly advise you. (IE: If you are married- it might be good to bring your spouse too). If your church has other leaders in the youth group- maybe do a panel discussion etc.

Anyhow glad to help- but want to know a bit more- to properly advise. There are also a lot of helpful videos and books. i guess it also depends on how many sessions or follow up sessions the group is trying to teach.

Email me @ nicksterlee@yahoo.com and i'd love to help.

Kindly. God Bless,

Nickster

Abstinence=Clear Conscience

Sheesh, what is that? You don't think that non-Christians have enough morals to give a talk to teens about abstinence? Seems kinda judgmental.

I would say talk about teen pregnancy - with stats, STDs - the main ones in detail, emotional ramifications of losing your virginity, etc. Give them real world examples, they will relate to this more than to a stern lecture. And although you are talking about abstitence, remember to remind them of alternatives. Better safe than sorry! Talk about birth control, condoms, Planned Parenthood, etc. For some, their minds are already made up about not practicing abstinence so your best bet is too remind them that IF they choose to engage in sex they need to have sufficient knowledge to prevent associated problems. Good luck.

First of all be honest about your own experiences. I am a youth leader and they can smell a fake a mile away. If you chose the wrong path tell them the repercussions of your actions. If you chose the right one and waited or are still waiting tell them the challenges you have faced in staying abstinent. Mention the risk of sex be honest. Don't lie and tell them sex doesn't feel good or is dirty. They should know sex is a gift from God given to married people.

Good Luck and God Bless.

Several items from St. Paul. He remained celibate and gave a number of reasons for it. He told everyone if they cannot control themselves to get married, but if possible it was better to remain as he was. You could also cover the issues of disease, pregnancy, and abortion and the moral issues that go with those.

Also see Ephesians 5:21-33 showing the Christian value of marriage.

Matthew 19:12 showing Jesus praising celibacy

1 Cor 7:8 tells us about Paul being celibate

1 Tim 5:9-12 tells of those pledging celibacy

Abstinence, has its benefits
1) Safe from AIDS, Herpes, and other STD's
2) Early pregnancy and parenthood
3) Worry and guilt

Sex is a gift from God to a responsible married couple who are physically, mentally, emotionaly and financialy mature to become a parent.

I am a Muslim and I am sorry to answer ur question, but since I see the teens around me, I felt like answering this question. Today's teens lack respect for their elders and love for their younger ones. So we need to advice them on this.
The children are crazy about movies, films, filmstars and so on. We should emphasize to them that our role models should be the good people like Prophet and his companions. TV has destroyed today's generation. But, I am happy that there are still people in this world, who don't have TV in their house and I am one among them.
The teens are crazy about fashion. We should teach them that true happiness lies in giving charity and providing things to those people who are in need.

Well, I would also like to suggest about a good site which help u to understand other religions:

What i would say to them is the same i say to everyone, like the thieves who died with Christ that day we are also as good as dead, we know not the time we are to die unlike them, so knowing that your as good as dead, and Jesus Christ is your "ONLY" Way out should you not put first things first, Matt. 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; [THEN] and all these things shall be added unto you.
IF Jesus is first and NOTHING is blocking that exit everything in your life [which can be over today] will be in proper order otherwise your as good as dead and what difference to what you concider important will it matter. Also tell them at www.amazingfacts.org they can get free bible lessons, and they and you can talk to me wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

I'd take it slow, teenagers tend to have a mind of their own. I wouldn't just come out and say "don't it" you'll have to find a way that will appeal to them. You could read in 1Corinthians.
Good luck and God Bless!

they don't seem to be Jews because of the fact Jew's don't have faith the messiah has come yet. they don't have faith Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish needless to say contradicts one yet another.... it is unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". provide up this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.
