"Most dogs are nicer people than most people" (Andrew Rooney) . Your boyfriend is extremely immature and insecure.. You would be much better off to dump the bf and keep the dog..Your boyfriend is telling you how it would be if you have children..You deserve better.

Well, I'm sorry to have to tell you that dogs usually bond more closely with one family member than another; but since your doggy seems to have chosen you, I would NOT tell that to your boyfriend. Just encourage him to spend more time playing with the doggy so that the bond strengthens. The bottom line, though, is that doggies ALMOST ALWAYS bond more closely to one person than any of the other people with which they live.

Your boyfriend is jealous of your bond with your dog , by the way, and he feels hurt because he thinks the dog doesn't like him very much. You might want to give your BF a little bit of extra special TLC, maybe even make some jokes about how stupid dogs are. In time, I think that your BF will get over this. You just have to be strong and tough it out.

Dog's have pack leaders and your dog has chosen you and I think dogs tend to soften up to females rather than males as females talk in "coochi-coochi coo" language to dogs and are overall more nice and friendly.

I think your dog has gone a bit overboard for it to go crazy when you were only a few metres behind tieing your laces.

I think your dog has seperation anxiety. What I would do is get a baby gate/pen and put your dog in it while you are around but you must ignore the dog. Chuck in a few special toys that he will only get when he is on his own. Leave the room and if he is calm then leave him and in say 10 minutes let him out. If he gets all upset just leave him and do not go back to him until he is calm. Praise and reward when you come back in and he is calm. Gradually leave him on his own for longer and longer. Then the next thing is for him to stay over at your boyfriends without you. They need some bonding time on thier own. You dog needs to get used to doing things with other people.

Hope this all helps!!!

Dogs have that natural instinct on who is nice and who isn't. If you're boyfriend doesn't treat the dog nice, she won't want to be around him. His tone in the way he talks to the dog could scare her. Dogs love that baby talk and maybe your b/f just isn't into that stuff. Your b/f's behavior towards the dog is the key.

If your boyfriend is so immature as to be jealous of your dog, dump the boyfriend! This is a control issue, don't confuse it with jealousy. The dog loves you and has already bonded to you. Smart dog!

Dogs have an instinct,Fears. It's based on this instinct that they get close to humans. If they stick to you, they like you.Obviously the dog likes you better than he likes your guy. It's up to your bf to do something that would make him love him the same way as he loves you.Just wait and watch,i can say nothing more....Best of luck,Fears....

a dog will love every one in the family, but he or she will choose one person whom they will love the most, about that you cant do anything. Try to involve your boyfriend more in the relation with your dog and he himself must make more effort to his relation with the dog.

when my grandparents died, my mum bought me a german shepherd, she was supposed to be mine because ive always wanted a dog. but my german shepherd got attatched to my mum. at first i was angry and jealous, but my dog still loves me and i got over it. i suggest your boyfriend start feeding the dog, playing with the dog and taking the dog for walks.

some dogs pick one person as their favorite, and its usually who feeds him, takes him out....etc...if your boyfriend is nice to him, plays with him..etc..im sure your dog will accept him, but may not be as close to him, thats just the way it is
