If you are using Windows XP, read on...

The Autorun.inf file and the programs that the Autorun.inf file is designed to run may not run if you are logged on to Windows XP as a user without either Power User or Administrator rights.

By default, only users who are logged on to Windows XP with Power User or Administrator rights are allowed to install software. In Windows XP, files that have an .inf extension are considered to be setup information files. As a result, the Autorun.inf file does not run if you do not have Power User or Administrator rights.

RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, log on to Windows XP as either a Power User or an Administrator.

First check your CD drive's speed(should be between 40x - 52x).If not above 40x ,then the speed of the CD must be above 40x which your CD drive cannot read.If you have everything I mentioned above, then the autorun.inf of the CD might not be having correct data and commands OR you CD might have not been burned properly or the CD got or was spoilt. Most probably your OS is all fine as it can run ordinary CDs.Here is a simple test to test your OS and CD drive.Just insert a CD which has autorun.inf in it.If this works, then the CD which you are having problems with has some problem.
