The Bible claims a man lived to be 900 years old. 900 years old. Before modern medicine and vaccines that eradicated much disease.

It also claims a virgin conceived a child.

Compared to those whoppers, carbon dating looks like unassailable truth.

It is like anything else in the world,in other words it's not perfect. But a lie or conspricy,no. It is not entirely accurate in all cases, that is true, but it has been proven accurate enough to at least be a useful tool. I think it's interesting to note that this argument has been going on for much longer than the time which carbon dating has been used. The argument is essentially the age of the Earth,or mans time on it. Several centuries ago the church had similar teachings, which they had to slightly adjust shall we say when they encountered certin cultures who had written histories older than they said mankind was. It's interpretation and often flat out guessing. Just take a look at the fossil record and ask yourself if you really believe all that happened in 6000 years.

Carbon dating is neither a lie nor a conspiracy - it's just a bore. Try dating a real live person instead of an inorganic chemical. The bonding is more fun... LOL

And... the Bible insisting that the origin of earth and man was only 6000 years ago ought to be the one and only clue that you need... ... RUN, RUN, as fast as you can, get your innocent *** away from the biblical man.

The bible is worth less than a cold dung heap. Don't you know that by now?

Another close-minded question from The Biblical Brigade. How about if I asked "Was Jesus just and ordinary guy or a fairy story?". Obviously you're not interested in the truth, just your own warped and slanted interpretation of reality based on an ancient book that is demonstrably shot through with holes and inconsistencies.

Carbon dating has been crossed-checked against other dating systems and found to be an accurate assessment of the age of samples. This and other methods give the lie to your 6,000-year old earth which is why you feel threatened by it and attack it.

The Bible does not insist that the Earth is 6,000 years old. Many Christians disagree with that interpretation of the Bible. So get your facts straight before you make wild unfunded statements. God Bless.

Neither.

The peoiple who insist on either don't even bother to learn the basics of modern dating processes. The only conspiracy is in the minds of the YECs.

I see your point, it must be a conspiracy if it questions the Bible! Better just throw away all the biology books and give the students Bibles, as biology MUST be a conspiracy between the atheists and the DEVIL

Its a satanic lie the same as fossils and dinosaur bones and the fact that the universe is billions of years old.

If the carbon dating isnt satanic then the Bible is getting people to believe in false gods and prophets etc

Or its all a big pile of nonsense and we should get on with life and discover the universe for ourselves and be our own gods.
