Why must I be saved?

He is your friend. He went to the cross for you. As people we need to be punished. You and I are SO sinful we deserve to go to hell. However, God loves us so much he sent Jesus to save us. All you have to do is believe in him.

I find this e-mail highly inappropriate. I would never e-mail someone trying to force my beliefs on to them. Yahoo! Answers is a forum for people to debate, to express their opinions and to read others.

You may be sinful, but you have no right to pass judgement on my life, as you do not even know me.

I have enough friends, I never asked him to go to the cross (because I wasn't born), and isn't the fact that I am an Atheist evidence that I have no intention in believing in him.

You are right it is wrong for someone to send things like that through email. Well, you should be saved in order to be forgiven for your sins and go to heaven, you don't want to go to hell when you die. But that's somethng that you as an individual has decied on. No one can make that decision for you but yourself. Whatever religion you, you may not even believe in being saved, if not, well then, thats your business, not no one elses. Just remember, not everyone has the same beliefs, and your business is yours.

I am not expecting you to believe. But since you are asking. This is how i understand about the Bible. When God created us human, we are still incomplete. That is why, there is a feeling of void or emptiness inside in every human being. We where searching for something we do not know or don't understand. We gratify ourselves with everything this world has to offer, only to find it boring and meaningless. And can't filll the void.
Now the Source of LIfe, has offer all human being, the missing part, so that human will be come complete through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. the missing essence of the human body to reach his full potential and capacity. It reveals our true purpose of why we exist. That is the reason why true christian has this unexplainable feeling of joy, hope and inner peace, despite our fearful and frightening world.
Of course you will find this ridiculous. Communist used to say that God is an opium, a hallucinating drug.
But you had nothing to lose and so much to gain in believing.

If you don't want to go to hell you must be saved, and this is not MY judgment, but it is God's judgment. It does not sound like anyone is passing judgment on you, but instead trying to bring you to salvation through Jesus Christ our Savior. Also, no can make you do anything you don't want to do. If you want to live a heathen lifestyle full of lust and sin, the wages of that sin are eternal death in the lake of fire.
