my friend is 175 cm tall and weighs 81 is that a healthy weight?

It depends entirely upon your height, bone structure, and feeling toward yourself.

People are all different.

I for example, am 6'2'' and I have a very large bone structure. I am a football player/powerlifter with alot of muscle mass. It would be impossible for me to weigh less than 150 lbs. Some people can't get to that point because their body's natural build just isn't made for that.

If you are comfortable with your weight, who gives a damn what is a lot or not. If you are happy, to hell with everyone else.

EDIT: Everyone who claims its a lot is simply assuming that a higher than average weight for an average height person means you are fat. It's simple ignorance. Ignore it.

As I said, it all depends on your height, and your bone structure and body composition. (take a body fat composition test if you can. NOT YOUR BMI. BMI doesnt take into account muscle mass. If its pushing 20%, you are probably a bit overweight. BMI is a joke.)

Depending on her height, weighing 81kg may be too much for her..
This can be calulated in her Body Mass Index (BMI).


Even so, if it happens that a person has a healthy BMI, doesn't actually mean that they healthy.
If a child is very inactive or has poor eating habits, then they might still be unhealthy even though that have a healthy or normal BMI.
Even kids with an eating disorder might have a normal BMI...



There's another factor to consider too..
Since BMI does not really measure body fat, a person is possible to be 'overweight', BUT not really obese.
A person who is very muscular might have a high BMI and be classified as overweight, even though they aren't 'fat.'


To determine whether the child has excess fat, further assessment would be needed.
Further assessment might include skinfold thickness measurements.
To determine a counseling strategy, assessments of diet, health, and physical activity are needed.



Be sure not to use an adult BMI calculator on your child. This is because child to teen are based on the BMI age- and sex-specific percentile...

It's a lot. When I was 15, I weighed about 42 kilos.

Basically, it depends on your tallness, but or 81 kilos you should be no less than 185 cm tall, if not, then you're really overweight.
