I know a girl who likes to trip out on shrooms, because she claims it helps her gain a different perspective on certain "things". I'm not for it, at all. There aren't any known health hazards to taking shrooms, but what's a rational reason that I could give that would convince her to not take them. She really likes to hallucinate and she said she would like to trip out on acid someday.

As some one doing a PhD in Pharmacology and Neuroscience I've got to disagree with Laura R.
The best rational reason why she should not do shrooms is because they are illegal. It's a question of a risk benefit balance. Is the certain pleasure she gets from shrooms worth the possible risk of ending up in jail? Think about it, if she gets a drug conviction she will be stuck in whatever country she is in now for the rest of her life, no travel. And of course, jail.
Some people think that risk is worth taking.
I'm also tempted to ask why you are so sure that taking shrooms is such a bad idea? There is some evidence that taking hallucinogenic drugs can lead to a disorder called Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder (HPPD), but the evidence is very thin on the ground. But apart from that, I don't get your sureness.

tell her acid feels like s#*t the day after. cant help you with the shroom problem (their great). try reminding her they grow out of cow dung

Actually there are known health hazards with taking "shrooms"...the reason she is "tripping" is beause she poisoning herself. If she takes too many, or eats the wrong kind it could kill her.Also, there are cases in which people have eaten shrooms & have a permenant "trip" which leads to suicide... I had a teacher who's bestfriend had this happen too. She couldn't stop tripping and it lead to her killing herself to stop the trip.

Sometimes people are too stupid for their own good.
Call the cops next time she goes to get high. Sit back, watch the fun, and then watch the rehab begin.
Or let them get high till they do something stupid and kill themselves.... Natural Selection for the win....
