I have to get up in four hours but can't fall asleep. Anyone have any suggestions?

LOL, no one to cuddle up to, been laying in bed for two hours - I just got up because laying there was pointless, done the warm milk, the laundry is almost finished.

Oh yeah - tried meditation too but couldn't calm my mind to do it. I may just be up all night.

depends on what you need. two things are sometimes helpful. one is opening the window a little for better air (but maybe this will up your heating bill.

the thing that helps me sleep is thinking either I clock hours for my job (exhausting work!) or I sleep. Sometimes I choose the bed and fall asleep while relieved not to be working.

You are probably tense whether you know it or not.

Start Counting from 1 to 100 or to 1000 or start imagining sheep's over you and count them & play a music that you find boring.

I know what you are going through. You must get some sleep are you won't be worth a damn at work today. Myself I answer questions all through the day regardless if I get any sleep or not and sleep when I get home.

I do a relaxation technique. First you lay down on your back and breath in through your nose and out through your mouth slowly ten times. Then you tell yourself mentally that you are going to drain all the stress, tension and discomfort from your body. Tell yourself all the stress and tension and discomfort are going to drain out of you like bath water and try to literally picture this in your head. Then when your ready you start mentally draining your body of the tension, stress and discomfort. Say everything out loud in your head as you go starting with the top of your head saying "I am becoming completely relaxed and ready to fall quickly asleep, all the bad is now draining out of the top of my head, now all the tension and stress are draining out of my face, my eyes, my nose, my neck..." and try to picture it mentally as you go and keep going until you are all the way down to your toes. This usually gets me to sleep before I reach my knees. I hope it works for you! Also if draining doesn't work for you can imagine turning off light switches that works for one of my friends better then water draining. Sweet Dreams!

You can do excercise to make you sleepy
but for me..I take sleeping pills sometimes
find safe, reliable ones
but make sure that you don't take them too often
otherwise some people get addicted to that

Well, it works in cartoons!

You should get off the computer and try to sleep in your bed.
