A 'bible' (small b) is any book. The Bible (capital B) is a collection of 66 'holy books' that were chosen by the 'Council of Nicea' to provide 'the most complete history' of man 'before Jesus Christ was born' (the Old Testament) and the 'life of Christ' the way 'mankind' can be saved because Jesus Christ 'died on the cross for ALL of our sins' (the New Testament). This book was written by many different men throughout the 'history' and after, and some Christians believe that it is 'God's word' but it's really just the 'writings of men who were INSPIRED by God' to write these 'holy' books.

The Bible:
"It is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies."

The Bible is a book considered by christians to be Holy and a book from which they can derive messages to guide them in their christian lives. Be warned however that there is a lot of controversy surrounding this book...........as there is lots of controversy surrounding christianity itself.

Dear Temsah,
The bible is 66 individual books put together in one book that God authored (He did have humans record it down) that tell the story of the coming of Jesus Christ. It is a book that reveals who God is, how to know God personally, and how to live in a way is pleasing and allows one to have a personal relationship with God. The Bible contains books that give us history, prophecy, epistles (letters to individual churches) that have relevance for us today. We see God's faithfulness to others and we can trust God's faithfulness. We see those who have failed God and this did not exclude them from knowing God and we are encouraged.
Anyhow it's quite a large question you are asking- i'd be more than happy to answer more specific questions if you have any please email me @ nicksterlee@yahoo.com
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster

A selection of tales and legends. Most of them having been inspired by the stories that bronze age middle eastern goat herders were telling at night around the camp fire, playing to scare each other.

A book, like any other. Read it for yourself. Use what you find useful. What more can anyone do?
