File a complaint. Nothing will come of it. After five complaints nothing will happen. After 20 complaints somebody may notice. After 50 complaints somebody will definitly know something bad is going on.

When you say "people haven't done anything", do you mean they are drunk but not causing a disturbance? Being drunk in public in New Orleans is a violation of NO City Ordinance. You don't have to "do anything" to be arrested if you are in fact "drunk" and "in public"

Police do no longer ought to supply you any form of exams to coach or disprove you point of intoxication. Judges place self belief in cops testimony of their observations. The offence of being intoxicated in a public place isn't a criminal offence in Canada, it rather is Liquor administration Act offence, this is a provincial offence. You gained what's the equivilent of a rushing cost ticket. you are able to look in courtroom in case you desire to argue the fees. it won't prepare on a criminal checklist examine besides the fact that while you're got here upon to blame. Police can carry you for a era of 24 hours even with the offence. they can't launch you while you're nonetheless intoxicated. The volume of time you have been held replace into no longer unreasonable for the situation. in case you sense this is the situation, you are able to lay a Police Act grievance against the officer. the situation would be investigated. undergo in strategies, that while you're leaving areas out (it happens alot, people desire to tell a version of information that paint them in a sturdy mild), they're going to pop out as nicely. you will no longer get any economic advantages if he's got here upon to blame under the Police act, you will possibly ought to sue courteously for that. If got here upon to blame, he would be punished with the help of being suspended without pay. one greater notice, to no longer say which you're no longer telling the certainty, if there is any area you're leaving out, do no longer bypass away it out in case you lay a grievance. everybody does and says stupid issues. it provides you with greater credibility in case you admit yours. as lengthy as you probably did no longer something to justify the officers strikes in arresting you (ie, combat lower back), then you certainly will nonetheless be ok.

Get together with a bunch of people and write a letter to whom it may concern to, that you don't appreciate being harassed this way, and it's totally inhumane, and to reform the police department...After all we have rights as tax payers, that is why they have a job to serve and protect. Not to make their own rules as many do...This is why people don't understand many are getting tired of how some police department are doing their job's, and getting smaller...

If they are approachable see if you can find out what the problem or harsh feelings are from. If not write/e-mail your rep or mayor and have others do it with complaints/comments.

It seems that most people in New Orleans who want to fight back have been taking to shooting police officers at random from cover. I wonder if that will work.
