Yes you will lose weight but the scale is not where you should be looking for results. When you work out, you begin to gain muscle which weights more than fat, so you may be losing weight but gaining muscle which the scale may stay the same or even increase. You should look to how your clothes fit for best measurements. Keep going, the weight (numbers on the scale will drop soon)
Example: I jogged on the treadmill for 4 days at 4-6 miles per day. The scale increased one pound but my tight jeans are now loose in the butt and waist. Best of luck !

Hi
I personally run about 2- 3 miles, 3 times per week. This helps me to lose a few pounds and maintain good cardio fitness. In my personal experience it's not how far you run, but how focused you are. Cutting out junk food is a very good start, remember consistancy is KING.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and thats how many you need to lose weight.
work out - cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min plus light weight weight training
8 glasses of water a day
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day
instead of big meals eat 5-6 small meals a day (portion control)
no junk food, no bleached flower (e.g.white bread, pasta), no sodas

ofcourse you will lose weight. Stop being so self conscious, and go out and do it. Ofcourse you will also have to diet accordingly. Most importantly do not go on any fab diets, (carb all that doesnt work) The most important thing is to watch your calorie intake and make sure you burn off more calories than you eat. A calorie is a unit of energy to raise the temp of 1g of pure water 1 degree. More energy burnt=loss of weight. So YES, run two miles go at your own pace, and you will lose weight. now if only i can too.. lol

If you follow that routine for an extended amount of time (a month or so), you should see a drop in your weight. Don't go so far as to deny yourself treats, but instead, use them to reward yourself. For example, after your 2 mile run, enjoy a good size meal, or a little snack. You'll find it easier to keep to your routine by doing this.

you seem to be on the right track, keep in mind everybodies metabalism is alitle different. my experience w/ running & dieting worked well.Eat your 3 squares a day ,small meals in between. you may also wanna read up on carbs & proteins ,what sources, and when to eat them .when i was in the militaryi saw alot of guys &women lose weight just by running and without ever touching weights.2 things to be careful of .1. don't over do it ,pace yourself..2. don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away...you will. give it time!! have fun!! hopefully i was helpful, & not too over the top,let me know how you make , if u want

Any time you increase your activity level, you get smaller. Just don't weigh yourself, measure yourself. you can gain weight from muscle, but still look a lot skinnier.
