What does it mean when someone wears a pendent like this? Does it represent anything? Thanks.

I'm not sure if "pendant" is the right name, but it's worn around the neck with black rope cord.

No the snake is inside of a round piece of glass, similar to how a picture would be on a necklace.

it has a black rose, black rop sivler bg, snake.
So it is occultic and the snake is lucifer - probably a witch or wizard or satanist - they all the same.

I am not sure, but it sounds quite pretty.

If the black rose has 5 petals it is likely a "Rose of Venus". Look up under references to the DiVinci Code. It dates back to preChristian Rome and is a form of Pentagram(actually a symbol of life) Is the snake in a circle surrounding it, is it eating its own tail.
If it is that would be Ourobouros. It would represent Eternity or infinity. I would think first of this mix as eternal life, immortality.

But like I said I am not sure.
Is the cord a triple strand or a braid. three strands are supposed to be strength and represent the first of the perfect numbers, with even and odd combined, Odd is male, even female. Braid is something else and the number of strands have differen meanings. They will be odd usually, 7 as always represents spiritual mysteries.

It could just be a necklace, or it could be a symbol of initiation into a particular coven.

Each coven uses something indiginous to themselves, and discernable to other covens.

One may use a triangle in different positions to denote degree, or a pentacle in different positions.

The best thing to do would be to ask the wearer. If it is just a piece of jewelry then they will tell you that, if it denotes something more then I am sure they will share that as well.

I recieve questions almost daily about the pentacle that I wear, as I wear mine, by some standards to be considered upside down, with the two points up, and the one down, but in my coven (no we are not evil, and we are not satanists, as that is a christain concept, we are Wiccan) it denotes my level of degree within the coven.

One point up - first degree
Two points up - second degree
One point up with triangle at top - third degree

The colour of the cord may also be significant. Many groups use colours as well as pendants to signify degree as well.

The black cord and rose would represent death, the snake would represent knowledge, it could just be a necklace.
