Chith is knowledge. The SELF is the knower as well as the knowledge. The questions arise in our mind due to confusion because we are the mixture of knowledge and ignorance. As long as we do not realize the true Self, the ignorance and confusion will not vanish. For example in the evening when the light is fading you happen to come across a rope in the middle of the road and you think it is a snake coiled around in the middle of road. You will flee away from that place. When light is focused on, you will realize that it is only a rope and your fear will vanish. As long as you feel it is a snake you are ignorant and in confusion. The moment knowledge arises due to light, you will realize the clear truth.
