How can I divide 2 partition on my hard drive to install 2 Operativing System?

I have 300 GB Hard disK. Many of you advicing to install Windows XP in my new Vista computer , to divide HD in 2 Partition to save 1 Partition for XP another for Vista. So can you explain how i can divide to part , how can i divide size of GB ( How much for XP and Vista?)for both . Thanks for your helping.

before to install os only divied to partiion. first format your hardisk with any os supprot. then create 3 or 4 partition why 3 or 4 partition is 1 is use to windos xp, 2 is use to vista, 3 is use to your data useage, 4 is used to data backup. some time any one curupted that time it is used to your data loss.

For dividing, resizing, etc I prefer Acronis Disk Director over Partition Magic myself...easier to use and twice as fast!
Not to mention that the Acronis Disk Director Suite has Operating system Chooser in it as well...

Now with that said...
Vista Requires 16GBs of space for installation...and XP Pro Requires 1.5GBs of space to install it...
So then the question is, how much space are you going to require for programs and such along with the operating systems? It's up to you...But if I were you, I'd make sure that the operating systems are partitioned at the FRONT of the hard drive reason being is that is the fastest part of the drive!!!
This means faster boot times and faster access times.

I think theres a problem everyones forgetting. Windows doesnt come with a bootloader. So if you install XP to one partition, XP will boot. But then once you install vista, only vista will boot.
You'll also need to install a 3d party boot loader onto the master boot record of your drive AFTER you install both operating system. Windows will over-write your MBR without even asking.
A free bootloader? I dunno. GRUB is free.
