A friend of mine used to take back matchboxes with Kangaroo droppings for friends in the UK. A very unique souvenir! Not sure if that is an issue with quarantine though..................
Koalas do not live in WA (apart from wildife parks and zoos) and the authorities take a dim view about tourists taking away quokkas and black swans.

A quoka. They're only found on Rotto (Rottnest Island). No where else in Australia. Some of our native flowers are unique, if you can take them back with you; Sturt Desert Pea is a great example. Pearls from Broome are some of the best in the world. You can get them at Kailis Pearls.
Actually a quoka is probably the only thing that you could get here that you wouldn't be able to get anywhere else. Of course there's a few snakes which I think are unique to WA but you really don't want to go there!

Perth is very famous for it's black Swans, and uses them often on the coat of arms, or in advertising the Swan River, the city, etc. So in souvenir shops you'll find black swans on almost anything! If you're going for a more expensive souvenir such as jewelry, Western Australia is legendary for it's beautiful pearls and pink argyle diamonds.
