If i can answer this question with 100% certainty then i would be rich.
I would guess the chicken came first. I believe god made several of each animal and then they reproduced. But i have no way on knowing this.
Science would say that the chicken had to come from an egg because all chickens come from eggs .. so the egg came first ... but where did the egg come from? Who ferilized it? Who kept it warm? I cannot answer these questions
SO by my critical thinking, i would say the chicken

The question is not "which came first, the chicken or the CHICKEN egg?" Just the chicken...or the the egg. And since prehistoric eggs from all types of animals have been around long before chickens ever existed. "The egg" came first.

Okay I am going to say the chicken
1. for religious reasons. The bible says that god created the fowl of the air...not the embryo of the fowl
2. Because the egg can not hatch itself since it takes a warm place like under a chickens butt to grow
3. Baby birds require mom to get food for them or teach them how to forage for food
4. Makes sense that the chicken would come first since the rooster would show up with the chicken. If no rooster is there then no egg is fertilized
and of course I just like that answer.

is this a science or religion question? If it's a religion question then I'd have to say that the chicken came first, as well as the hen. That's the only possible way that it could've happened right? think about it, no chicken no hen no egg. that's what makes sense. if this is a science question though the answer would be best found by another.

scientifically speaking, the egg must have to come first, since it would give rise to the animal with the genetic makeup of the chicken. the producer of the egg (sic) would be in some little way, different from the offspring, just as parents differ from their children & so cannot be classified a chicken.get it or is it going over your head??

Oh all are giving such huge answers. Now it is my chance.
In India, there is a dish called biriyani.
If you buy this chicken biriyani, you would get an egg with it.
But if you but an egg biriyani. i promise you would never get
a chicken.
Thus i have proved that the chicken came first and not the
little egg.
How is it???????? No wonder all call me the
