Of course, she said that more than 25 years ago.

Seems to indicate that she believes in God but does not subscribe to any particular kind of institutionalized worship. But I see what you mean about the conflicting articles; another site claims she's a Buddhist.

I just saw her on TV today. VH-1 was showing her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. During her speech she was emotional when she spoke of her late husband and her parents. She said there were a lot of people she needed to thank who were sitting in much higher seats. ( She pointed up).
I think it's safe to say she believes in some kind of God, and definitely in Heaven.
