First of all, why were they searching her house to find the marijuana? Did they get a tip? Or were they there for something else, and they found that too? It really depends on the situation. If it was an illegal search, it won't be as bad as it seems. But don't even worry about it anyways. It's a misdemeanor, so it won't be that bad. And the DUI's won't make a difference. They were so long ago. I know that at the department that I work in, we confiscate the marijuana and they usually stay in jail until they can pay bail to get out. It's really not that big of a deal. I don't know if that is different in Indiana, it all depends on the department, and the state laws. But I don't see it as being a huge deal. So don't worry. But she will have to go through legal stuff, mug shots, and all that. But she'll be okay. Just tell her to not be stupid, and risk it again.

Had they actually charged her with that? I think they were just trying to make her scared. Most likely, at the end, she will get an infraction only if they found little.
The very good question is why the police came to her house???
Class A misdemeanor depends so much on a state. Some states it is 6 months - 1 year or $2,000- $5,000 fine (depends on a state) or both; in other states it is under 6 months. Most drug charges on misdemeanor A give over 6 months though.
Also, if she was never charged with drugs before, she will get a probation only.

Unless she had a lot or they consider her to have the intent to distribute the possession of a small amount of marijuana seems to be at worst a class c misdemeanor. However you did not say how much they found. One thing however I hope she does not need to drive a car. She may loose her licence and even car registration for 6 months.

Depending on the county. She really dumb for taking those kind of chance living in a section 8 housing and being on disability. I hope it wasn't Boone County as I know the judge who handle these matters and he takes them very by the book. tell her to do what ever who lawyer says and if it is Boone County don't be a smart *** to the judge or she will find herself in jail

They will charge her with possession of marijuana. If they said it was a misdemeanor, then it's not that bad. There will be a relatively low bond amount. You can bond her out of jail fairly easily with a bondsman. If you bond her out she will have a court date. Make sure she makes it or they will issue a warrant for her arrest and this will start all over again.

If housing finds out about it, she is out. She will be posted a bond within 12 hours and if she makes it can be out. She will have to appear in court a few times in the coming weeks and hope for the best.

Why were they at her house? Cops are criminals.
